Best Casual Restaurants in South Charlotte NC for Families and Locals
Not every night out needs to be a production. Sometimes you just want good food, no wait, and a place where you can relax without watching the bill too closely.
South Charlotte has that too.
Kid Cashew, East Boulevard (Dilworth). I know this is technically Dilworth, but if you live anywhere in South Charlotte, this is in your rotation. Mediterranean-inspired, relaxed atmosphere, wildly popular. The mac and cheese alone has its own fan base. Great for families, great for a casual dinner out, and the menu has enough variety that everyone finds something.
Southern Pecan, Phillips Place (SouthPark). Gulf Coast casual at its best. Lunch and dinner seven days a week. The food is consistent, the service is warm, and it's the kind of place you can bring your parents or your kids and everyone's happy. Louisiana BBQ shrimp, shrimp and grits, good salads, great cocktails.
Rooster's Wood-Fired Kitchen. Two South Charlotte locations (SouthPark and Ballantyne). It's priced at a dinner restaurant level, but the atmosphere is comfortable and unfussy. Great rotisserie chicken, housemade pasta, solid kids menu. Families show up here often for a reason.
Duckworth's Grill and Taphouse, SouthPark. Burgers, wings, salads, local drafts, and plenty of TVs. If there's a game on and you want to watch it with decent food in front of you, Duckworth's is your spot.
Living in South Charlotte means easy access to options at every level. That's part of what makes this area work so well for families and people who want lifestyle without the commute to Uptown.
If you're thinking about buying here, I'd love to help you figure out the right fit.
