Most people moving from another city don't know who to call. They Google around, ask a friend, or go with whoever shows up first. That works out fine sometimes. And sometimes it costs them.
Here's what I'd actually look for if I were relocating and needed to find an agent in South Charlotte.
Find someone who actually knows the area. Not just knows it exists. Someone who can tell you the difference between a neighborhood on one side of Rea Road versus the other. Who can tell you where school boundaries shift, which streets sit in a flood zone, and which developments are adding value versus creating congestion. If they can't answer those questions specifically, they're guessing.
Find someone who will tell you the truth. Relocating buyers are vulnerable to being told what they want to hear. You're far from home, you're under pressure to decide, and a lot of agents know that. The right agent will tell you when a house is overpriced, when a neighborhood doesn't fit your lifestyle, and when you should slow down instead of rushing into a contract.
Find someone who has a process. Moving from out of state means fewer trips, less margin for error, and a compressed timeline. You need an agent who has a structured system for getting you to the right decision efficiently. Not someone who's figuring it out alongside you.
