Youth sports. The Wesley Chapel Weddington Athletic Association is a nonprofit that was established in 1982. Its programs include the Weddington Titans football program, with fall tackle football, plus baseball and wrestling. Its website is wcwaa.org. The group serves Wesley Chapel and Weddington, but I could not confirm which fields it uses this season.

What is the Town Hall Park meeting on October 19?

It's a public meeting about a possible town park. The town lists it as the Second Public Engagement Meeting, on Monday, October 19, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Town Hall. The planning firm, LaBella, is scheduled to report on the public feedback it received about building a town park.

A quorum of the Town Council may also attend that session. Separately, the town lists a Park and Events Advisory Board meeting on November 2 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

I don't know what the town will decide, and I won't guess. If you're thinking about buying here, this is a good example of how decisions get made locally. You can read the town's notices and go if you want to hear it for yourself.

How should I use a Saturday when I'm house hunting?

Treat it like a test drive.

1. Start at the house, not the park. Drive from the front door of the home you're considering. Time it, and note the roads you take.

2. Park where you'd park. See how easy or hard it is on a busy morning.

3. Come back on a Tuesday. Go at 5:30 p.m. Saturday shows you the fun side of a town, and Tuesday shows you the routine.

4. Check the school assignment for the address. Ask Union County Public Schools. Assignments can change, and a listing site doesn't get the final say.
